Our FASEL cherry is pulled for high heartwood content averaging 90 percent on the face and 70 percent on the back. Excessive gum pockets or other color defects are removed. The grade is pulled from firsts, seconds and some select boards that meet the heartwood specifications. This grade yields 83-1/3 percent clear face cuttings with minimum cutting sizes of 3" x 7' or 4" x 5'. Applications: cabinet and entry doors, casegoods, millwork.
We grade after drying and surfacing, and against all natural drying or surfacing defects (pin knot no defect).
