Abalon Beech

FSC Certified European Beech

Abalon

Characterized by its fine grain, European Beech is particularly well suited for cabinetry and furniture. In fact, it is often used as an alternative to walnut, cherry, and mahogany.

European Beech is easy to work with. It has an excellent finish and is resistant to compression and splitting. Steaming further improves the machining ability of this fine hardwood.

We source lightly steamed European Beech from one of the largest, most reputable European hardwood sawmills, Abalon Hardwood GmbH. Abalon produces carefully dried (MC 8 to 10 percent) and surfaced lumber in thicknesses of 26, 32, 38, and 52 millimeters. Grading occurs after surfacing to allow for reliable detection of defects and color. FSC Certified European beech is available in these grades:

  • Superior
  • Superior 1F
  • CBJ
  • Cabinet
  • Cabinet 1F
  • Custom Shop
  • Rustic
  • Com Shop

Lengths available: 6', 7', 8', 9', 10', 11', 12', 13'
