Community Involvement

Weyerhaeuser takes pride in being a responsible corporate citizen. This commitment is shown in hundreds of big and small ways each year across the communities where Weyerhaeuser employees work, live, and play.

A few examples of our community commitment include:

United Way Support

Weyerhaeuser employees are generous United Way contributors. The company also supports United Way by providing "loaned executives" who leave their Weyerhaeuser jobs to spend three months as full-time fundraisers for United Way. (The employees continue to receive their full Weyerhaeuser salaries and benefits.)

Weyerhaeuser Active Volunteer Employees (Making WAVES)

This company-wide program fosters volunteerism and supports employees' hard work by providing a framework for employees, retirees, families, and friends who want to pledge time, energy, and skills to their communities. The Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation sponsors this program and contributes cash awards of $1,000 to $5,000 to nonprofit organizations with active Weyerhaeuser volunteers.

• Food and toy drives
• Environmental restoration activities
• Building or upgrading community recreation facilities
• Tutoring and mentoring programs for at-risk students
