Diversity Programs
Weyerhaeuser is constantly looking for ways to make sure our employees are getting the best possible support and development. We have created a critical set of tools to help all of us meet our goals.
Annual Diversity Best-Practice Event and Forums
Each year, we host a best-practice event to educate and create a learning environment for leaders, managers, and employees. We invite other companies and organizations at no cost as our way of furthering diversity and inclusion throughout our region and our communities.
Diversity Business Networks host forums throughout the year for all employees on topics related to work climate and culture and talent management.
Assessments
Our Leader Diversity Assessment tool helps leaders examine their own behaviors and develop plans to enhance their diversity leadership effectiveness. Our teams actively scan their business environments for diversity-related best practices and opportunities.
Mentoring
We encourage employees and leaders to find mentors to help them develop their careers and reach their potential. We have a formal mentoring program and a mentoring website that provides tools to ensure the effectiveness of the mentoring relationship.
Diversity Councils
These councils include employees and managers working together to advise company leaders and recommend ways to accelerate progress in diversity and improve our culture.
Diversity Tool Kit
This publication provides leaders with a variety of tools and resources to help build a more diverse and inclusive workforce.
Education
Educational programs assist our leaders in fostering a respectful, safe, and inclusive work culture. Programs include Harassment Prevention, Leadership Effectiveness, Work/Life Balance, and more. We also focus on internships to develop young talent. Our Corporate Scholars program with the United Negro College Fund reaches students at participating schools who are enrolled in specific fields. Those selected receive a paid summer internship and up to $10,000 in scholarship funds per year.
Diversity Business Networks
Diversity Business Networks are employee resource groups that create a sense of belonging for employees and assist with recruitment, retention, work climate, and a culture of diverse talent. Our current groups include ACCESS; Community Overcoming Labels, Opening Minds & Reducing Stereotypes (COLORS/GLBTQ); Generation Next (Gen Nex); Hispanic Opportunities for Leadership Achievement (HOLA); Weyerhaeuser Black Employee Alliance (WBEA); and Women in Action.
