The true rewards of our diversity work are seen in the faces and performance of our employees every day. We are also nationally recognized for our outstanding work. Over the past several years we have received these awards and honors plus many others.

Equal Opportunity Employers: Weyerhaeuser in Top 50

Readers of Equal Opportunity magazine ranked Weyerhaeuser #9 on the “Top 50 Employers” list for 2009. The publication asked readers to select companies for which they would most prefer to work or believe are progressive in hiring minority groups. Equal Opportunity was launched in 1968 as the first affirmative action recruitment publication in the United States.

The Black Collegian Magazine: Weyerhaeuser in Top 100

The Black Collegian magazine ranked Weyerhaeuser #27 on the list of “Top Employers of the Class of 2009.” The publication conducts an annual survey of employers regarding the number of projected hires from on-campus recruiting, the campuses on which they recruit, and the top majors they are recruiting. The Black Collegian magazine is distributed free through the career services office on more than 800 campuses.

Black Professionals Magazine: Weyerhaeuser in Top 100

Black Professionals magazine named Weyerhaeuser one of the "Top 100 Companies for Blacks in Corporate America" for 2007. While the list includes a wide cross section of companies and industries, Weyerhaeuser is the only forest products company named. The selection process includes a survey of second-year MBA candidates and national recruiters.

Cited By Diversity Best Practices

Our Chairman of the Board Steven Rogel was among eight CEOs recognized for diversity leadership in 2006 by the Diversity Best Practices organization and was featured in the book CEOs Who Get It. Rogel and the company's chief diversity officer were also featured in Fortune magazine for their efforts.

Magazine Readers Choose Best Diversity Companies

Weyerhaeuser was voted one of the best diversity companies in a 2007 survey by the publication Diversity/Careers in Engineering and Information Technology. The publication asked readers and website visitors to identify organizations that employ technical professionals in the United States. The results recognize the top 100 that scored highest for support of minorities and women, attention to work/life balance, and commitment to supplier diversity.

Recognized for Outreach

Weyerhaeuser received recognition in 2006 for outreach efforts from National Society of Black Engineers; Society of Hispanic Engineers; Women in Construction; Society of Women Engineers; UNCF; National Society of Hispanic MBAs; Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences; and Diversity Best Practices.

Support for UNCF

Weyerhaeuser received the Frederick D. Patterson Award in 2006, named for the founder of the United Negro College Fund, in recognition of our support for UNCF activities. Weyerhaeuser Scholars, a partnership program with the UNCF, focuses on minority and female college sophomores and juniors. Over the last two years, we have awarded more than 30 such paid internships and scholarships.

Top 10 Socially Responsible Companies

Weyerhaeuser was selected in 2006 by Universum, a recruitment and research firm, as one of the top 10 socially responsible companies as evaluated by nearly 5,000 MBA students.
