Local Community Involvement

Weyerhaeuser employees dedicate themselves to their local communities. Employees demonstrate their passion for giving by sharing time and talents. Some recent examples are:

  • Winchester Homes celebrated its 25th anniversary by selecting 25 local charities to support an initiative they called "Acts of Volunteerism and Charity." Beyond contributing donations, employees actively identified, planned, and implemented projects in communities where Winchester has a presence. The "Acts of Volunteerism and Charity" received the National Association of Homebuilders' National Housing Endowment Builder Silver Achievement Award. Winchester employees have continued this program since it began in 2005.
  • Many of our operating locations partner with their local schools in volunteer activities that support environmental education. These volunteers help bring awareness of the importance to find sustainable solutions for people and the planet.
  • Many Weyerhaeuser employees donate their time and talents to support organizations in their communities, from directors participating on nonprofit boards to coaches of local sports teams to volunteer foresters who share their expertise with family forest owners.
  • There are many more examples of volunteer projects and creative approaches that improve the quality of community life.
