Medical Care

Weyerhaeuser offers at least two preferred provider organization (PPO) medical plan options for salaried employees: the Comprehensive Medical Plan and Medical Plus Plan, both are Blue Cross Blue Shield plans administered by Premera Blue Cross. You may also have other plan options to choose from in your area. Generally, these plan options are health maintenance organizations (HMO).

You may enroll yourself, your spouse and your dependent children in any one of the Weyerhaeuser sponsored health care plans offered in your area within your first 31 days of work or during a designated open enrollment period.

Coverage under the Comprehensive Medical Plan is available for domestic partners and their dependents who meet eligibility requirements. Domestic partner coverage under the Medical Plus Plan or HMO plans is not available unless mandated by state law.

Medical plan coverage is effective on the first day of the month following one month of continuous employment, or on January 1 following an open enrollment period. Dependents may enroll only if you are enrolled.

Dental Care

The Weyerhaeuser Dental Plan is designed to provide you and your dependents with quality, comprehensive dental care benefits at a reasonable cost. This plan helps you pay for certain treatments such as routine exams and major dental and orthodontic services. You share in the cost of providing your dental care by paying a monthly contribution for you and your covered dependents, an annual deductible and a specified percentage of the costs for your dental care services. You may enroll yourself, your spouse or eligible domestic partner and any dependent children within your first 31 days of work or during a designated open enrollment period. Dental plan coverage begins on the first day of the month following one month of continuous employment, or on January 1 following an open enrollment period.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts let you set aside a portion of your pay before it is taxed to pay for certain medical, dental, hearing and vision care, and dependent care expenses. You are responsible for spending all the money you set aside for the plan year, which is January 1 through December 31.

Under Internal Revenue Service rules, you must forfeit any unused balance left in your account that was not used for expenses incurred during the plan year ending December 31. You have until March 31 ofthe following year to submit expenses for claims incurred during the previous plan year.

You may enroll in a spending account within your first 31 days of work or during a designated open enrollment period. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following one month of continuous employment, or on January 1 following an open enrollment period. The money you contribute to aspending account is deducted in equal amounts from your regular paychecks throughout the year. Basic Life and Voluntary Group Life Insurance

Weyerhaeuser offers four life insurance plans to assist you and your family financially if you, your spouse or one of your children dies.

Short-term Disability

Weyerhaeuser automatically enrolls you in the short-term disability plan on the first of the month following 90 days of employment. This plan enables you to receive a portion of your weekly salary for up to 180 days while you recuperate from non-work-related injuries or illnesses.

Long-term Disability

To help you guard against the financial burden of income loss associated with a long-term illness orinjury, Weyerhaeuser offers a long-term disability plan. The plan enables you to receive a benefit while you recuperate from work-related or non-work-related injuries or illnesses that require more than 180 days for recovery.

You are eligible to enroll in the long-term disability plan during the first 31 days of your employmentor during a designated open enrollment period. Your coverage begins on the first day of the month following one month of continuous employment, or on January 1 if you enroll during an open enrollment period. If you wait until an open enrollment period to enroll, you will be required to complete a statement of health, and a medical exam may be required. Coverage then begins on the firstday of the month following the date your statement of health is approved by the insurance company.

401(k) Plan (U.S. Employees)

Weyerhaeuser offers a 401(k) plan designed to help you meet your long-term financial goals, such as financial security in retirement. This plan helps you meet these goals by offering you the opportunity to save money from your paycheck on a before-tax basis and to invest this money in a variety of investment options.

Group RSP and Investment Growth Plan (Canadian Employees)

For Hourly Production Employees with Salaried Benefits

Weyerhaeuser offers you the opportunity to participate in two savings plans: the Investment Growth Plan (IGP) and the Group Retirement Savings Plan (RSP). It also rewards you with variable pay when the company does well, through the Performance Share Plan (PSP). These plans, together with the Flexible Pension Plan, offer considerable flexibility in retirement savings and investments.

You are eligible to participate in an Employee or Spousal Group RSP if you are a permanent full-time employee, or are a temporary/ part-time employee and a member of the Flexible Pension Plan. There is no waiting period to become eligible to contribute to the Group RSP.

You are eligible to participate in the Investment Growth Plan if you are a permanent full-time employee, or are a temporary/ part-time employee and a member of the Flexible Pension Plan. You are eligible to participate in the IGP on your first day of employment.

Pension Plan

Weyerhaeuser offers this plan to provide you with ongoing income after you retire from the company. You automatically participate in the Pension Plan starting on your first day of work, and you are fully vested in a future benefit after five years of vesting service. The plan is provided at no cost to you.

Retiree Health and Life Insurance

The Weyerhaeuser retiree medical plan is intended to provide you and your family with quality, comprehensive medical coverage after you retire. This Blue Cross Blue Shield Comprehensive Medical Plan is administered by Premera Blue Cross. Weyerhaeuser continues your Basic Life Insurance to help protect you and your family financially in retirement. You are eligible for these coverages at retirement, beginning at age 55 if you have 10 years of vesting service and are eligible for the Weyerhaeuser Pension Plan, or at age 65 with any amount of service.

Adoption Assistance (U.S. Employees)

Weyerhaeuser offers adoption assistance to help offset the cost of legally adopting a child. You are eligible to receive adoption assistance after you have worked for the company at least six months. The benefit is provided at no cost to you.
