Our success depends upon high-performing people. Weyerhaeuser offers resources to help employees balance work and personal responsibilities. This is a partial list of those resources, as well as some topics on which the company receives questions.

- Benefits for Salaried Part-time Employees
- Child Care/Adult Dependent Care
- Education and Training
- Employee and Family Assistance
- Family, Medical and Personal Leave
- Flex-time and Job Sharing
- Health Education and Wellness
- Relocation
- Spending Accounts
- Student Scholarships
Adoption Assistance
Weyerhaeuser's adoption assistance program provides financial assistance to many employees (all salaried and some hourly) who choose to adopt children. Unpaid personal leave may also be available, depending on the employee's particular work situation. Adoption leave is offered in accordance with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act.
Benefits for Salaried Part-time Employees
Salaried employees who regularly work at least 25 hours per week are eligible for the same benefits that full-time salaried employees receive.
Child Care/Adult Dependent Care
Referral and information services regarding adult dependent care and child care are available at some Weyerhaeuser locations. These services help employees locate and evaluate child care and adult dependent care, and provide information on parenting and family-related issues.
Education and Training
Weyerhaeuser sponsors job-related education and training. Employees may also be eligible for partial reimbursement of the cost of tuition, books and registration fees for courses that could further their careers within the company. In some cases, a leave of absence to attend school or receive additional training may be granted as a partially-paid personal leave under the Weyerhaeuser education-assistance program.
Employee and Family Assistance
Weyerhaeuser provides confidential assistance to employees and their families regarding personal, financial, family or work-related problems. The company also refers employees to outside resources when appropriate. A portion of the charge for these outside services might be covered by the employee's benefit plan.
Family, Medical and Personal Leave
Weyerhaeuser offers paid leave for illness (for all salaried and some hourly employees) and short-term disability. Maternity/paternity/adoption leave is offered in accordance with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA); this is either unpaid leave or, for women who have given birth, paid medical disability leave. Unpaid FMLA leave is also available to employees to care for a spouse, child or parent with a serious health condition. Unpaid personal leave may also be available, depending on the employee's particular work situation.
Flex-time and Job Sharing
Flextime and job sharing opportunities vary by business (Weyerhaeuser is made up of many separate businesses, from sawmills to sales offices). Flexible work schedules, part-time employment and job sharing may be available.
Health Education and Wellness
Weyerhaeuser sponsors health education and other activities to help prevent illness and injury and to promote healthy lifestyles, including:
- Information and programs on nutrition, stress reduction and smoking cessation
- Worksite wellness program
- Health screening
- Online health and wellness resources
- A contracted physician as medical director and a network of occupational health nurses
Relocation
If a job change within Weyerhaeuser requires a move, employees may be eligible for relocation services. Relocation is also available to some new employees who need to relocate from the point-of-hire to a Weyerhaeuser location.
Spending Accounts
Spending accounts allow all salaried and some hourly employees to set aside pre-tax dollars - money that is exempt from federal, Social Security and, in most cases, state and local taxes - to pay for:
- Child care
- Adult dependent care
- The employee's share of certain health-care expenses not covered by company health or dental plans
Student Scholarships
The Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation sponsors two annual scholarship competitions for the children of employees. Thirty scholarships to four-year institutions and 20 scholarships to community colleges or vocational/technical schools are awarded each year.
